June 26, 2003 :: For our first anniversary, S. and I packed the car and took a long drive around Norway. The first day took us from home (near Olso) to Åndalsnes, through some of the most indescribably beautiful places... the pictures below don't do it justice but they're all I have. (Click on any of the images for a larger version.)
We drove through a valley where the road cuts between vertical rock faces, one of which is called the Troll Wall.
The peaks, called trolltindane for the trolls which are unpleasantly easy to imagine crawling around, look razor sharp.
This shot and the next are closer to the town of Åndalsnes, where we spent the night.
And these shots are around sunset (a.k.a. the middle of the night) and looking back from our hotel balcony at the valley we had just come through.
